An evening in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey – ‘The Broken Thread of Civilization’

On April 24, ARMA activists held an evening in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey – ‘The Broken Thread of Civilization’.


Thanks to the continuous work and colossal dedication of the ARMA activists, the guests of the evening got acquainted with an exhibition of unique photographs with scenes from the life of Western Armenians before 1923, accompanied by musical compositions by Komitas.

Officials and honored guests spoke at the event, in particular, the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in St. Petersburg – Maria Ashotovna Babayan; Deputy Secretary General of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia – Hayk Marselovich Chilingaryan; Assistant to the Chairman of the Regional Armenian National-Cultural Autonomy of St. Petersburg – Vagan Rafaelovich Babakhanov; Deputy Chairman of the Society of Citizens of Syrian Origin – Waddah Al-Jundi.

The evening ended with a showing of a film about the events of 1915-1922.
