Meeting with the President of the Republic of Armenia

As part of his working visit to the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturian met with representatives of the Armenian community in St. Petersburg in the building of the Consulate General of Armenia in the evening of June 16.

President Khachaturian noted that the visit of the delegation headed by him is taking place within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. According to his story, any visit provides an opportunity to meet and hold discussions with representatives of the Armenian community.

‘Your problems are our problems, and according to this logic, the main purpose of such meetings is so that we can understand what issues bother or interest you. On the other hand, it also provides an opportunity to present the situation in Armenia nowadays. You receive different information from different sources, but this information needs to be clarified, because it does not correspond to reality in a lot of cases’, President Khachaturian noted.

In his speech, the President mentioned the Armenian-Russian relations, the internal political situation in Armenia, and regional security. Vahagn Khachaturian spoke in detail about the current progress in the implementation of programs aimed at the final resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, about the approaches of the Armenian side.

During the discussion, the Founder Armen Safaryan and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Aram Danielyan asked Vahagn Khachaturyan some political, economic and socio-cultural questions.

As part of his visit to the Russian Federation, Vahagn Khachaturian also visited the Armenian Apostolic Church of St. Catherine in St. Petersburg.
